Two men fishing in the fall.

Fall has arrived but that doesn’t mean fishing season is over. Fall fishing can be a gorgeous time to soak in those autumnal colors and switch up your tactics. We’ve compiled our favorite fall fishing techniques so you can enjoy the season. With the right approach, gear, and temperament, now is a great opportunity to hook your biggest catch.

Figure Out Where the Fish Are

With the change in weather, fish habits are likely to change as well. Instead of relying on your summer methods, now is the time to try something new. To figure out where the fish are congregating, use your sonar, follow the birds gathering together in the sky, or visit a spot you haven’t explored before.

Freshen Up Your Line

If you’re like us, you’ve been fishing all spring and summer. That doesn’t mean you should continue using the same line! In fact, it means the exact opposite. Spool a bit of new line – trust us, you’ll thank yourself later.

All About That Bass

Fall bass fishing can be particularly lucrative if you do it correctly. As bass look to store up food for the winter, they are on the hunt for bigger meals. You can use this knowledge to your advantage! Now is the time to use those bigger baits like spinnerbaits or bulky jigs.

Give Yourself a Later Start

During autumn fishing, there’s no reason to get up with the sun. The prime time to get out on the water is around noon. The sun will be high in the sky, warming up the water and persuading the fish to move around. While you’re on the water, keep an eye out for where the sun is hitting. Those warmer spots will most likely have active fish.

Stay Flexible

Autumn can be a particularly finicky time of year. With temperature shifts and weather changes, it’s important to stay flexible and roll with the punches. Plan your fishing trips ahead of time by keeping an eye on the weather report.

Slow Down

As the weather cools down, you’ll find that fish tend to move slower in the water – they are cold-blooded, after all. That means you’ll want your bait to move slower, too. Slower and steadier retrieves will make the difference between catching a fish and missing out.

Get Comfortable with Smooth Moves

If you’re looking to maximize your time on the water, get comfortable with our boat seat suspension systems. We help smooth out the bumps and jolts of boating so you can fish the day away without back, neck, or joint pain.

Take a look at the anglers who love our products and then shop around! Of course, we’re always here to answer questions if you need it!

Spend All Day on the Water

With that, we hope you enjoy a beautiful season of fall fishing. Between the blue skies and clear water, there’s a lot to love about this time of year and we hope you get to make the most of it!
